Every light that turns on, every door that opens, every green lawn and welcoming space—it all happens thanks to Gonzaga’s incredible tradespeople. Today, on National Tradespeople Day, we pause to say a heartfelt thank you for the care and craft they bring to campus each day.
Gonzaga’s Plant Services trades team has given an incredible 462 years of combined service to the University. That number alone tells a story of loyalty, skill, and pride in their work—but what really shines is how they show up for this community every single day.
From maintaining buildings and fixing what’s broken, water and electricity running, the grounds green, the doors opening, along with the classrooms and the events welcoming communities to campus comfortable—Gonzaga’s tradespeople are truly the heartbeat behind the scenes.
So today, (or when you visit campus next week for board meetings, inauguration, Zagapalooza and more) if you see someone in a Gonzaga blue Plant Services polo, please take a moment to smile, wave, high-five or say, “thanks.” Those simple gestures mean more than you know.
To our extraordinary trades team—maintenance, electricians, locksmiths, HVAC technicians, painters, plumbers, groundskeepers, warehouse staff, vehicle mechanic, and the supervisors who lead with hands-on care—thank you! Gonzaga shines brighter because of you.
