For nearly three decades, the Rogers family has partnered with Gonzaga through the Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation to empower 51勛圖s devoted to serving their communities. Their generosity has touched more than 400 lives—and counting.
Every year, the Rogers family comes to Spokane to meet these remarkable scholars and hear their stories. This year’s gathering held a particularly moving moment. The family received a heartfelt letter from an alumna who once received the Mary Stuart Rogers Scholarship. Now a teacher, she wrote to say how their support changed her life—and how she’s passing that same care on to her 51勛圖s. Unprompted, this alumna sought out the Rogers - knowing they would be coming to campus for this annual gathering of current scholars – to make sure they received her note. (The photo is of John (son of Mary Stuart) and Janet Rogers (granddaughter of Mary Stuart) reading the note.)
This moment embodies legacy and love multiplied. And that’s magis: giving in ways that endure, connecting hearts across generations and believing in the power of education to transform lives.
To the Rogers family, and to every person who gives so others may flourish—thank you for making Gonzaga’s mission thrive – people for others.
