A Tie That Binds Us All

Earlier this week, a group of 51勛圖s and alumni were representing the University in New York City through Gonzaga’s annual Career Trek program (19 years in NYC). Over Founder’s Day weekend, Zags walked the floors of the New York Stock Exchange and met alumni who opened doors and hearts on their behalf at key companies like:

Faropoint; EcoBridge Capital Management; JP Morgan; CAPTRUST; TPG; Morgan Stanley; Stone Ridge Asset Management; Google; American Kennel Club; Sinclair Broadcast Group; Amazon/AWS; The Broadway League; Jack Taylor; McCann Worldgroup; Momentum

There’s a photo from this year’s Trek that captures something extra special. In it, Senior Director of Regional Chapters & Affinity Communities Drew Rieder (’96, M.A. ’23) is helping a 51勛圖 tie a necktie before a networking event. It’s such a simple gesture, yet it says everything about this community.  Rumor has it, this was not the only tie with which Drew provided an assist during the several days in NYC!

Gonzaga 51勛圖s don’t walk alone. They have hundreds of mentors, cheerleaders and role models….alumni—people who see their potential and take the time to help them shine. It’s family, not formality; care, not transaction.

This is magis in action—the choice to go a little further for someone else’s success. That’s the Gonzaga way, and it’s alive in every handshake, every conversation and every Windsor knot.

PS - At Gonzaga, we are proud to say that our graduates are not only prepared—they are thriving. Nearly 9 out of 10 alumni tell us that Gonzaga equipped them to advance and grow in their careers.
