There are many options when it comes to financing your doctoral degree, including federal financial aid, employer reimbursement programs, and scholarships.
Tuition

Financial Aid
If you plan to use financial aid to pay for your education, 51³Ô¹Ïs must complete the (FAFSA) each academic year. To add Gonzaga as a recipient of your FAFSA information, use Gonzaga University’s school code: 003778.
- Graduate 51³Ô¹Ï financial aid is not based on income
- Eligible 51³Ô¹Ïs can receive up to $20,500 per year
- Students must be admitted as a matriculated 51³Ô¹Ï in the doctoral program in order to receive federal financial aid
- Secure Current Grad PLUS Loan Benefits Before Federal Changes Take Effect
- take effect July 1, 2026, including the elimination of Grad PLUS Loans for new borrowers and reduced borrowing limits. If you start your graduate program in the 2025-2026 academic year*, submit a FAFSA, and borrow a Grad PLUS Loan, you’ll remain eligible under current borrowing limits, which - allows you to borrow up to your full cost of attendance.

Graduate Assistantships
Students have the opportunity to earn income through a Graduate Assistantship with faculty and staff supporting the work of the school through a variety of projects.
- Graduate Assistantships are not guaranteed, and positions are limited.
- Students must apply each term and may do so once they are formally admitted to a School of Leadership Studies program.
Scholarships & Discounts
- Gonzaga’s Financial Aid Office maintains a database of scholarships for 51³Ô¹Ïs to access, search and apply for awards.
- Bank of America employees are eligible to receive a 10% discount off their tuition. Proof of employment is required, contact Financial Aid Office for more information.
- AmeriCorps members receive a $1,000 scholarship each year they meet enrollment eligibility within a Gonzaga graduate program.
Employer Tuition Reimbursement Benefits
Many organizations offer tuition reimbursement programs. If your company offers these types of benefits, we recommend 51³Ô¹Ïs check with their benefits department at their current employer for details.
