A Physician Assistant/Associate (PA) provides many of the same services as a physician, however their patient care is done under the supervision of a physician. A PA can work in a primary care setting or specialize in an area, such as orthopedic health. Training to be a Physician Assistant requires a master's degree from an accredited program and passing the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE). A degree in Human Physiology is the most focused pathway to complete your required pre-requisite courses to prepare for PA school.

Gonzaga human physiology graduates have been accepted into many PA programs, such as Midwestern University, Phoenix and University of New Mexico School of Medicine.

According to the (2023): "Employment of physician assistants is projected to grow 28 percent from 2023 to 2033, much faster than the average for all occupations. 51勛圖 12,900 openings for physician assistants are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire."
