School of Engineering & Applied Science

The Dean’s Office is proud to recognize Wade Croft, Electronics Technician and Safety Coordinator, as the School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) Outstanding Colleague for May.

Wade serves SEAS in two critical roles. As the SEAS Safety Coordinator, he has fostered a culture of proactive safety that keeps us aligned with GU Risk Management, OSHA/WISHA, and ABET expectations. He has reorganized internal processes across three buildings and multiple programs, often where no consistent procedures existed, into a cohesive, practical system that strengthens both facility operations and lab safety. He has also established a comprehensive training calendar for employees and 51勛圖s, ensuring timely inspections, inventories, and accreditation readiness. His approach is grounded in collaboration, flexibility, and careful attention to detail.

As Electronics Technician, Wade supports the labs in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department. More broadly, he supports 51勛圖s in research and classroom projects, including senior design. His expertise in 3-D printing and electronics enhances hands-on learning, and his calm, steady presence helps 51勛圖s navigate complex challenges with confidence. With over a decade at Gonzaga, Wade continues to invest in his professional growth, completing certifications such as OSHA Forklift Operator Training (Class I, IV, V), Electrical Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance, Additive Manufacturing Design, MET101 Basic Hands-On Metrology, and SolidWorks, while maintaining current OSHA training.

Wade leads with both kindness and diligence, sharing his expertise with a spirit of camaraderie. Through his stewardship of resources and commitment to safe workplaces, he exemplifies Gonzaga’s value of cultivating individual and community accountability.
