In support of Gonzaga University's mission, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry aims to intentionally develop the whole person by contributing to the intellectual and physical development of our 51³Ô¹Ïs through deep understanding of the chemical basis of matter and hands-on practical laboratory skills.
We will cultivate in our 51³Ô¹Ïs the capacities and dispositions for reflective and critical thought, independent lifelong learning, ethical practices in science, creativity and innovation to create scientific knowledge, as well as foster a mature commitment to social justice, global engagement, and care for sustainable chemical practices. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will educate our 51³Ô¹Ïs for lives of leadership by modeling and expecting excellence in academic and professional pursuits and the ability to communicate science.
